Santoonie Corporation’s

Interactive Fiction

Otherwise known as Text Adventures

As discussed in the ‘about’ section on the main page, Santoonie Corporation began supporting the creation of modern day text adventures in 2002.  The name as changed to Interactive Fiction for some time now, but the premise has remained the same from the days of Zork and High School Adventure.  In the typical text adventure, you read the description of a room or environment and explore using rigid commands, ‘examine desk’, ‘open drawer’, ‘get letter’ ‘put paper in trash’ ‘hit desk with hammer’ ‘inventory’ ‘n’ for north, as in Go north.  Modern languages such as TADS, or Text Adventure Development System, have a very wide range of known vocabulary.  Santoonie Corporation to date, offers the following games for your enjoyment.

Directions:  To play a text adventure you first need an interpreter which acts like a ‘vcr’ with a game file being the ‘vhs tape’.  Santoonie provides you with both right now.  First download the interpreter, follow setup instructions and then download the game file and open with the interpreter program and your off to adventure!

Zero v 1.0 (IFComp2004 Entry)

 Interactive Fiction Compeition 2004

The King is pleased with this crop of legions, but grows weary of the continous lack of bravery. He has ordered for longer training as he retires to his den. A good day was over. That's when the unthinkable happened, HUMANS! Fowl men with swords and lanterns hunching through your caverns, examining, touching, destroying and taking! If only, you knew their language, you'd tell them a thing or two. The last image you remember is that of a holy man striking you repeatedly upon the head with a mace.
